Electrical Plant - Fitting and Operations

Electrical plant and operations training is based around our 33kV and 11kV Operations School.  One of the largest of its type in the UK, the school features a representative sample of both old and new plant including oil, vacuum and gas filled switchgear.  The Operations School can be made live at 11kV and full maintenance, construction, fault finding, cable identification and spiking, and protection scenarios can be simulated.

Operations on our 11kV training network are realistically managed using an ENMAC control and monitoring system, which includes remote monitoring and control facilities.   Each candidate has access to both hand-held devices and radios for communication.  Safety is ensured by the use of personal and CCTV supervision throughout the school.
